The app isnt very nice but the service is even worse. They make you wait forever for a car that will make you go out of your way to pick up another rider. Unless you have an hour to kill dont use this app.

Dependable, and fair priced. I feel like a princess riding in the comfortable VIA vehicles. I feel safe and traveling in Manhattan is a pleasure rather than a pain.

Amazing service!

Ive been riding with via since the very beginning and its turned into an NYC staple. The customer service is excellent and I love that theyre an engaged member of the NYC community.

Best app I have seen

I will say, when they are doing their $4 promotions it makes it so easy to make the decision to use Via, because its barely much more than the CTA. I find myself using it less with the $4.95 rush hour price and $2 service fee. When Via works, its great -- cars arrive in time, are generally on par with an Uber Black, and the drivers seem friendlier. For a while I almost never had another person in the car. But its rare that every part of the service comes together like this, and that unpredictability makes it hard to rely on. Some mornings a car is a few minutes away, other times its 15 minutes away, and these estimates are rarely correct -- they dont seem to take into account rush hour traffic at all, and they always get stuck in traffic because they have to take main roads that are more likely to lead have additionally pickups. The same goes for the trip itself; they always take Michigan Avenue in the morning. If you have multiple pickups it will take even longer, particularly on rainy days when people wait in their apartments until the car pulls up. I would estimate that, on a good day, it takes about the same amount of time as taking the red line (though its far more comfortable), and on a bad day it can take twice as long. I havent taken Uber Pool, so I dont know how it compares (I generally like Uber Taxi or Vias black cars because they are professional and know the route), but overall the service is good, there are just some growing pains to work out.

I use Via in NY and am impressed with the ease/clarity of the app, promptness of pick-up and amicable drivers.

First time using there service and was pretty pleased. I would recommend to anyone who loves good service and not break bank. Only possible CON: you share with people. Which I dont see a problem honestly. Referral code: jonathan3y3
